A Little more to Holmes than just a Trade...

By now, most of you have probably read that the Pittsburgh Steelers have traded wide receiver Santonio Holmes to the New York Jets for a fifth-round draft pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Holmes, the MVP in the 2009 Super Bowl has been in trouble as much as he's been successful during his NFL career. He's currently facing a Civil Suit for an incident at an Orlando, Florida night club.

More on the trade from The New York Times RIGHT HERE

On the heels of the trade comes reports that the Jets are only going to have Mr. Holmes for 12 games at the most. He will apparently be sitting out the first 4 games of the year due to him violating the leagues substance-abuse policy.

There seem to be several issues going on here at the same time: One, the Steelers are sending a message that they aren't going to put up with behavior like this from their players (are you listening Ben?) Two, they are comfortable with the other guys on the team. Nobody is going to disrupt what they are trying to do. Three, the New York Jets are quickly becoming the Raiders east. They seem to be willing to take on the troubled, castoffs and rejects. Yes, they became very successful and a dangerous team last season. And...if everyone behaves, they are a REALLY talented team. But...if they don't, the whole season could go down in flames...very, very quickly.

Here is Holmes in action when behaving. He is capable of this at times. Thanks You Tube:
