Evander Holyfield stopped Frans Botha in the eighth round to win the WBF heavyweight title Saturday night.
The HQ would really like to know what the "WBF" actually is...???
Holyfield, now 43-10-2, knocked down the 41-year-old Botha, now 47-5-3, with 2:36 left in the round with a right to the chin.
Botha beat the count of referee Russell Mora, but almost thirty seconds later Mora
stopped the fight with Botha backed into a corner. It was Holyfield's 28th career knockout.
Two judges had Botha ahead 67-66 when the fight was stopped. The other judge had it Holyfield 69-64.
Only boxing...right...???
There was a reported crowd of 2,200 in the stands at the Thomas &
Mack Center on the UNLV campus for the fight- most rooting for Holyfield.
Here's a set-up piece KVBC-TV did in Las Vegas with the champ the week of the Botha fight...Randy Howe is sitting in front of a monitor...
The HQ isn't sure whether or not to show highlights if they actually do exist...

I`d like to see Holy in fight with Andrew Golota and then if everything will go right with Klitchko.
I think there are a half-dozen feds that have belts these days. The guess is that the Holyfield camp will work the others around the Klitchko Brothers to rack up titles for a mega-unification bout...
By then Holyfield will be 52 or 53...
