In his weekly press conference, Vols head coach Derek Dooley compared his inexperienced team's struggles to the Germans during the Allied invasion of Normandy.
Dooley specifically referenced the Americans landing at Omaha Beach on D-Day and the Germans' slow reaction.
Or, at least, his interpretation...
Dooley said "...we're like the Germans in World War II ... like, 'Oh my God, the invasion is coming."' Dooley added that he didn't "want the German people to get upset at me. I'm not attacking (them), but that's what happened."
