OSG High: 12 Overtimes In Texas High School FB

((HT: KLTV Tyler, Texas))

This one is a new national for overtimes...

Jacksonville High beat Nacogdoches High 84-81 in 12 overtimes.

And, yes, we're still talking about football...

This is where it gets a little weird. Jacksonville only needed to win to advance to the playoffs, but Nacogdoches had to win by 8.

Don't ask why... it's the Texas playoff system...

The game was tied at 28 at the end of regulation before the teams played for an additional 2 1/2 hours- five-and-a-half total...

In the 12th overtime the Dragons took possession, but fumbled inside the 10 yard line.

For what it's worth, Nacogdoches is now eliminated from the playoffs contention and, Jacksonville will be at home next week against John Tyler in a game that will decide the district championship.

Here's the goofy play that made it only 21-14...
Coleman Swierc is half the dynamic duo at the adult table...
