DEVELOPING: Brewster Out At Minnesota

((HT: MyFoxTwinCities))

Not that this is a major surprise or anything, but who would know that Purdue would be responsible for the firing of a college head football coach.

Word coming out of MInneapolis was that Gophers head coach Tim Brewster was coaching for his job Saturday. The team was on the verge of its third losing season in Brewster;'s four years, and the Boilermakers put the man on the unemployment line.

The 28-17 loss kicked Brewster out...
Here's your nebulous fan piece...

Brewster went 15-30 at Minnesota, including 6-21 in the Big Ten.

AD Joel Maturi says he's talked with university President Robert Bruininks in the last few weeks about Brewster. He was hired in 2007 despite never having been a head coach or coordinator in college or the NFL.

The school has made offensive coordinator Jeff Horton the interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

Really, you could see this happening...
New barn, same losing ways... and you knew the school wasn't going to take it...

UPDATE: Here's KARE11's post mortem...

But, hey, a $600,000 buyout...?
That's one for every win Brewster had in the Big 10/11/12...
Good work...
