ACC + ESPN = $$$$$$$$... Maybe...

The four letter has conquered the TV rights to another conference, this time the ACC. Sports Business Journal is reporting the the ACC has agreed to a 12 year, $1.86 billion dollar contract with ESPN/ABC, roughly $155 million per year, for the ACC football and basketball.

That number is substantially higher than projected because Fox Sports made a aggressive run at the ACC during final negotiations.

Here's what it all means. ESPN/ABC will have the rights to televise any ACC football or basketball game it so chooses. Raycom and FSN will have to sub-lease from ESPN rights to carry games.

Most of the details have not been released.

PM UPDATE:
Where's Lee Corso when you need him...

OSG Sports talked to those close to the situation in Greensboro, and the SBJ report has been labelled as "premature." Nothing has been signed or agreed to in any kind of official-TV-type manor...

More when we know more...
