Jeremy Green + Computer= Bad Idea

((HT: Hartford Courant/Dempsey, Stacom))

Jeremy Green, an analyst for ESPN and son of former NFL coach Dennis Green, has been arrested on a child pornography charge in Connecticut.

Bristol police say Green ((pictured, thanks Hartford Courant)) was picked up around 5PM yesterday in a Southington, Connecticut hotel and charged with possession of child pornography, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was being held on a $750,000 bond. Police are not releasing details and say the warrant is sealed.

ESPN spokesman Mike Soltys says Green has worked since 2005 as a contributor to ESPN.com. The company had no immediate comment on the arrest. The last activity Green had with the network was an online chat in late June.

His next court date is scheduled for the 20th of this month.

Lisa Backus of the Bristol ((CT)) Press via PFT has more details that include: Green apparently admitted cocaine use after his arrest, and to have a first-degree pornography charge levelled, the individual has to have at least 50 images in his possession.

Prosecutor Ronald Dearstyne said, when asked by Backus: “This is a very serious case, and in my opinion a good case.”

Jon Nelson, Why is this story not being covered in more? Same reports everywhere. I know this is a horrible subject. This is the biggest sports related person who has been charged with this kind of crime. I can only think of Calvin Murphy. Why is there not more investigation into this story, interviews with people who knew him etc. I write a wordpress blog and talk about this story a little. But I am just one idiot. ~Ohclair
