The Dirty Dozen Continued

Sorting it Out...

Well here comes the homestretch and things are beginning to get interesting. As good as we were 2 weeks ago with the picks, last week, wasn't so great. Maybe Texas Tech does get it and can run the table or Alabama wins out. But our guess is that at least one of the one loss teams is going to end up in Miami.

Last week was a 11-2 with 1 delay of game. (I take credit for Florida because I said whoever scored 1st would win) For the season that makes me 37-10. Pretty damn smart, eh?

This Weeks List:

1. Al-a-bama (The fighting Saban's land here by default right now. They still haven't been tested, but I think that is going to change. This Week: LSU 20, The Sabanators 17)

2. State Penn (Yes, I was a week ahead with them too. They are pretty lucky the play in the 10, they shouldn't be tested before there bowl game...unfortunately. This Week: The Joe Pa's 27, Iowa 10)

3. Texas Tech (I'm stunned they beat Texas, but...I still don't think anyone in the Big 12 can play defense, them included. The dream ends here. This Week: Okie St. 48, Texas Tech 45)

4. Florida (What they did to Georgia was impressive. Pretty much the ulitimate payback there. They will struggle until they play in the SEC championship game. This Week; Gay-tors 23, Vandy 17)

5. Oh..kla..homa (Solid. Oklahoma vs. Nebraska used to be a great rivalry kind of game, boy have things changed. This Week: Oh..kla...homa 38, Texas A&M 14)

6. Texas (How do you let Michael Crabtree get near a football at the end of a game? Someone will be thinking about that the rest of the year. This Week: Texas 38, Baylor 21)

7. USC (Pete Carroll, quit whining. If you don't lose to Oregon State, you don't have this discussion about dropping. But you always lose games like that, so deal with it. This Week: USC 21, Cal 17)

8. Oklahoma State (They still have a chance to make an impact this season. Mike Gundy always has a chance...after all...HE'S A MAN! This Week: The Fighting Mike Gundy's 48, Texas Tech 41)

9. Boise State (Yes, they are here. No I don't think they will stay. They will end up in the lowest level BCS game because that is what they do. This Week: Boise State 27, Utah State 10)

10. TCU (They go above Utah because they play really good defense and they play the Utes this week. I'm not sure how worthy they are either, but I guess we will find out soon. This Week: TCU 24, Utah 17)

11. Utah (I'm still not really sure what they are doing here. I suppose either the UTES or the Horned Frogs won't be after this week. This Week: See above)

12. Ball State (Kudos to David Letterman's alma matter. They deserve this chance. Though because of where they play they are on TV on wierd days. They won there game this past Tuesday over N.Illinois. This Coming Week: Ball State 35, Miami of Ohio 23)

The Bottom of the Barrel:

5. Meechagain (Gosh, this is funny. Does anyone else see the humor in this? I can finally put them in a top...or in the case bottom 5 list. This Week: Minnesota 23, Michigan 21)

4. San Diego State (At least it's nice out there. Sometimes it's better to look good then to be good...or something like that. This Week: BYU 43, S.D. State 14)

3. SMU (If I'm June Jones...I don't know, can someone explain again to me why he took this job. They haven't been good since the Wild West days of Craig James and Eric Dickerson. This Week: Walking in Memphis 21, SMU 10)

2. Washington (They are flat embarrassing. Now Ty Willingham is getting the Pink Slip. How do you sell someone on this job? This Week: Arizona State 24, Washington 10)

1. Washington State (I think I'm going to alternate these 2 all year long. I don't even want to get into detail about these guys. This Week: Arizona 31, Washed Up State 6)

*Special mention. Somehow North Texas managed to win last week. Maybe it was the "Recreational Substances" maybe it wasn't. Either way congratulations, you are off the island.
