Since birth in April of 1994, Ashlyn Horry battled a rare genetic condition with severe respiratory issues and other complications. She eventually was diagnosed with a disorder that years later became known as the 1p36 Deletion Syndrome, caused by the missing part of chromosome No. 1.
The Ashley Horry Foundation was organized a few years ago to help support other families with children battling similar illnesses.
But, today at the age of 17 Ashlyn lost her battle against the disease from what was termed “severe respiratory issues and a host of other complications requiring a six month stay in Texas Childrens Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit...”
