Trump's Note/Courtesy: Palmbeachpost.com-hurricanesports.com |
What exactly is Donald Trump good at? Bankrupting his own businesses? The man known for the low-rated TV Show "The Apprentice" and several recently failed business ventures is sticking his nose into football. Why? We don't really know.
Trump apparently sent a note to University of Miami president Donna Shalala recommending she hire his apparent friend Mike Leach. It appears that it isn't the first time he's made that recommendation.

Quite honestly, we like Leach, even if he is a bit of a crackpot. He was very successful before being relieved of his duties at Texas Tech. All because he allegedly forced Craig James's son to sit in an "Outhouse" type of facility during practice. That case is still tied up in litigation.
We've already done a bunch of stories about Miami's courting of Jon Gruden and while the folks down there still are dreaming of that, realistically, we aren't betting on it. Is Leach the answer then? Maybe. He might not be as crazy a pick as you'd think. He knows offense and knows how to ignite a fan base. The problem is he's prone to saying whatever on his mind which while sometimes a good thing, sometimes it isn't.
Here is Leach at his current job, working for CBS College Sports:
