Boston Bruins head coach Claude Julien has confirmed that Marco Sturm will miss the remainder of the playoffs with a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee. He got the injury in his first shift of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Philadelphia Flyers. Sturm had to be helped off the ice after attempting to check Flyers' defenceman Matt Carle.
In a release, the Bruins stated that Sturm would undergo surgery within the next four-to-six weeks and will need at least six months to recover- meaning that he will, probably, miss the beginning of next season as well.
