Sommer took a deflected puck to the face in a game against the Manchester Monarchs. He would eventually leave his post, but would return with some cosmetic "adjustments" shall we say...

Sommer told the Worcester News-Telegram's Bill Ballou:
“Never saw it coming,” he said. “Even if I had, I’m not sure I could’ve gotten out of the way, not with the cat-like reflexes I’ve got.”
