OSG High: South Plaq Head Coach Leaving After 1 Year...

South Plaquemines ((LA)) high school football team is looking for a head coach again after Damien Mills resigned from the position for “family reasons.”

Mills took over for Cyril Crutchfield. He led the Hurricanes to a 10-4 mark and a state semi-final.

"We did well under the circumstances. It was a constant battle," Mills said when interviewed.

Yeah... how cryptic was that...???

Mills was hired back in July when Crutchfield was let go as head coach for allegedly using profane language. Crutchfield led the Hurricanes to two state championships in three years before he got booted.

He is currently the head coach at Landry ((LA)) High School.

"I didn't hire one coach on my staff," Mills said.

"It does not concern me," South Plaquemines principal John Barthelemy said. "We have an open check book for our football program. I am 100 percent behind my coaches."

Must be nice in the current environment to have an open checkbook...

Here's the Crutchfield tenure hearing at the time he was initially pulled away from the South Plaq head coaching job...
