It's good to see Marty Schottenheimer back in football. This time Schottenheimer will stalk the sidelines for the Virginia Destroyers of the UFL.
"I have returned to Coaching with the Virginia Destroyers and the UFL." Schottenheimer tweeted about a half hour ago. "I look forward to taking on Omaha in the first game of the UFL season."
Destroyers fans better hope Schottenheimer has a better track record in the UFL playoffs than he did coaching the Cleveland Browns, where he couldn't get past John Elway and the Denver Broncos, or the Kansas City Chiefs, where even with Joe Montana at quarterback could win the AFC, or the San Diego Chargers, where he had the best team in the NFL and couldn't win a frekin' playoff game.
Here's a young Marty Schottenheimer when he was an assistant with the New York Giants fighting Jack "Hacksaw" Reynolds of the Los Angeles Rams back in 1976. Pat Summerall and Tom Brookshire on the call. (Thanks Youtube.com0
