Malhotra Out For Season, Career Concerns...

Vancouver Canucks center Manny Malhotra is out for the rest of the regular season and playoffs because of the eye injury that has already had surgery on it.

The team announced in a statement that Malhotra would be lost for the year after being hit in the left eye by a puck during last Wednesday's game against Colorado. He had a surgical procedure later that night to address any swelling and bleeding.

Malhotra had a large bandage over his face as he left after meeting with some of his teammates before a skate-around Saturday morning.

The Canucks said there would be no further comment. Steve Nash, Malhotra's brother-in-law, said later that afternoon when asked about it that there is a family concern about "possibly permanent vision" damage.

Here's CanucksTV's Kristin Reid with a report at the time of the injury...
