Dayton's Gregory Offered GaTech Job

((HT: Brooks via FOSG Matt Stewart))

Matt, through his Twitter account, is reporting that Dayton's Brian Gregory could be the new head coach at Georgia Tech if he accepts the offer on the table...

With on campus renovations- including Alexander Memorial Coliseum- and the $7-million buyout of former coach Paul Hewitt, Tech AD Dan Radakovich only was willing to spend around $1.5-million per year for his new coach.

A lot of high-powered alums who played pro ball wanted to give the job to an unproven Mark Price or Craig "Noodles" Neal who could mosey on over from New Mexico.

Theories bounced to OSG included even bringing back College of Charleston head coach Bobby Cremins, with Price as an assistant, to ensure that the new Alexander was filled with patrons when it reopens.

Understand, Gregory has not accepted, but the job is his if he wants it.
The required amount of buzz would not accompany Gregory if he comes to The Flats, but he would be economically feasible.

More when we know more...
