Canucks faceoff specialist Manny Malhotra has gone through his second surgery to try and save his eye after he was hit by a deflected puck two weeks ago.
The team issued a statement in part: "Manny Malhotra’s health continues to be the primary concern of the hockey club. Progress updates will be made available at the appropriate time. No further comment is planned at this time."
The Vancouver Sun reveals that Malhotra underwent surgery in New York with Dr. Stanley Chang. Chang reattached Bryan Berard's retina after his injury in 2000. But it took another seven surgeries before Berard could play again...
Something similar is expected if Malhotra will even be allowed to play...
