The HQ remembers covering Jon Abbate during his time at Harrison High School, just north of Atlanta. He wasn't the biggest kid, by any means, but he sure as hell could knock you into next week at linebacker- given the opportunity.
The HQ was also pleasantly surprised when Jon went to Wake Forest to play football- smart kid, smart football player. It was a good fit...
But the HQ was equally stunned when Jon lost his younger brother Luke to a car accident a little over five years ago. Luke was a passenger in a car coming home from lacrosse practice when the driver thought going 77-miles per hour down a back road was a good idea.

The Abbate family created the 5th Quarter Foundation to raise and continue to raise awareness about teen dirving and being smart behind the wheel and the benefits of organ donation.
The foundation and its info can be found hyah...
Here's the backgrounder...

Here's the trailer of the movie coming out later this month...
The HQ hopes it does the story, the family, and the foundation justice...
