The HQ has covered Fitzgerald High School football in our Georgia workings. We have both personal and professional friends in the town, and we feel for their loss in the DJ Searcy case...

Earlier today in Atlanta, Searcy's parents held a presser at the national headquarters for the Omega Psi Phi fraternity...

"This was such a preventable death," said attorney Benjamin Crump, representing DJ Searcy's parents. "It never should've happened."

Parents, Lawyers Question Action of Coaches After Death of South Georgia High School Football Player: MyFoxATLANTA.com


"My question to the coaches is why didn't you call 911 on Monday night and notify me when he first went down unconscious and unresponsive," DJ's mother, Michelle Searcy, said.

The Searcy's are calling for an investigation by the Georgia High School Association as to what the Fitzgerald coaches knew and when they knew it...

FOSG Shayne Wright caught up with the Executive Director of the GHSA, Dr. Ralph Swearngin to ask about the heat policies over the weekend...
