Long, Longer, Longest: How About 6OT's...???

Some hockey fans remember this game that kept us up until 2AM back in 1987...
((HT: CBC/youtube))

We now have have a contender in women's college hockey. Guelph and Queen's went at it the other night, and they went at it for a while.

5 hours and 15 minutes... and into the 9th overtime...
The Queen's SID checked the records and believe the game is second to a game that was played in 1936. The old college record was when Quinnipiac played Union almost two years ago.

Here's the goals... thankfully, they're edited for time...
And, by the 9th period, the play-by-play guy sounded just as enthused as the rest of us...

Here's Morgan McHaffie talking about her game-winner...
((HT: QueensGaels))

If you want to see the game from the middle of the first period, go hyah... The Streaming Sports Network has a huge file to download for five hours of play.
