Tiki Barber Planning NFL Comeback, Why?

Tiki Barber will be 36 years old and wants to comeback to the NFL.

Barber's agent Mark Lepselter tweeted, "Tiki Barber has filed the papers with the NFL to officially come out of retirement."

According to Jay Glazer at Foxsports.com Lepselter has said there are interested parties for Barber's services.

Barber left the New York Giants to pursue a career in the media. He found work pretty quickly working for NBC as a studio analyst for "Football Night In America" and as a correspondent on the "Today" show.

That career seems to have bottomed out since he doesn't work for the peacock anymore and just works for Yahoo sports occasionally.

Barber's got one thing going for him, he hasn't taken a hit in five years so his legs and body might be fresh. That is if 36 year old legs can stay that way.

Bob Glauber of New York Newsday cites a league source saying the Giants will not retain Tiki Barber's rights should he return to the NFL.

My favorite tweet so far on this subject comes from Sports Illustrated's Peter King:
"Tiki's cell rings. Voice on the other end says 'Mr. Barber? This is the Oakland Raiders. Please hold for Mr. Davis.'"
