Virginia Tech Gets Duked By James Madison

Ole Miss and Kansas, you have company. Virginia Tech joined that group of BCS schools that were shocked by a school from the Football Championship Subdivision. James Madison marched into a wet Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Virginia and shocked the Hokies 21-16.

Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer didn't have a whole lot to say about the game.

“I make no excuses,” Beamer said. “James Madison ran the option well, particularly late in the game. Their quarterback [Dudzik] handled things great for them. Defensively, they are athletic. Then we didn't take advantage of a couple of opportunities.

“That’s about it. They’re a good team and we didn’t take advantage of opportunities.”

"I love coach Beamer." James Madison head coach Mickey Matthews said. "It was very hard after the game seeing [Virginia Tech'] faces, but JMU pays me to win and I'd play just as hard next week…I told our players 'God doesn't give you many of these successes in your career, whether you're a player or you're a coach."

Here's report from WDBJ-TV in Roanoke, Virginia

Those of us at the OSG HQ believe the white helmets the Hokies wore Saturday will never see the light of day again.
