Savannah State Sued By 4 Recruits For Discrimination

Four white football players recruited by Savannah State University's former coach say in a lawsuit the school didn't follow through on scholarships because of their color.

They are Jacob Farmer and Andrew Cannon from Florida, North Carolina's Rico Arellano and in-state Georgia recruit Forrest Hill ((pictured, thanks WSAV-TV)).

The lawsuit filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Atlanta says then-head coach Robby Wells offered scholarships to the players before he was fired in January. It says the offers were yanked after Wells left.

Wells, who was Savannah State's first white football coach, filed his own discrimination lawsuit back in May.

The university, obviously, isn't commenting... the four are seeking admission to Savannah State, scholarship assistance, punitive damages and cost of litigation.
