The Big 12 Appears To Be On It's Deathbed

This weekend the Big 12 Conference may be a flat lined. It appears that Nebraska will certainly join the Big 10 Conference. Friday the University of Nebraska's Board of Regents will meet and one of the items on the agenda is: Resolution regarding UNL athletic conference alignment. That is the strongest indication from Lincoln that the University intends to move on.

Will that invitation to join the Big 10 Conference be extended to the University of Nebraska? Wednesday University of Nebraska officials they have not received an offer from the Big 10.

Now the dominoes are falling. The Omaha World-Herald is reporting that Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds and Texas A&M athletic director Bill Byrne plan to meet to discuss their department's future.

The Pac-10 has reportedly offered Texas and Texas A&M to join but the eyes of Texas (and A&M) might be on the SEC. Stay tuned.

An OSG source who regularly covers the Big 12 Conference said its all but certain Oklahoma will be heading to the Pac-10 conference. The Oklahoman is citing a source high in the University hierarchy that the Sooners are heading west.
