The Hawks draw Drew....

Sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same. The Atlanta Hawks according to reports have promoted former coach Mike Woodson's top assistant, Larry Drew to the top spot.

Drew, a former player and someone who is certainly familiar with the guys on the current roster, inherits a team that while getting better over the past 4-post seasons, has been unable to get past the 2nd round of the playoffs.

While certainly not the sexy choice, Drew brings some stability and believe it or not some change to the Hawks. We know that the fanbase was clamoring for an Avery Johnson or Byron Scott and have even dreamed about scenarios where Doc Rivers would come to the ATL, but that was never going to happen.

The Hawks got a good basketball man who they are hoping and from knowledge, we are pretty sure isn't a carbon copy of his former boss.
