OSG High: WV Judge Allows Suspended Players To Play

((HT: WOWK-TV Charleston, WV))

Kanawha County ((WV)) Circuit Judge Carrie Webster granted South Charleston High School football players Tyler Harris, Pierria Henry, Trevond Reese and Emerson Gagnon game eligibility for Saturday's semi-final game against the Brooke High Bruins.

The WVSSAC had suspended the players after a brawl cleared the benches of both South Charleston and Hurricane High Schools in the final seconds of the quarter-final game last Friday night.

Here's the original story from the weekend...

The judge's order says there will be a full hearing in accordance with West Virginia law and the order expired by December 9th, unless it is extended by further order of the court or by an agreement from the players and the WVSSAC.

The original claim from the players' counsel, Ben Salango, filed 90 minutes before the ruling- claims that because of the Thanksgiving holiday, there wouldn't' be enough time for a full hearing for injunctive relief.

It's team coverage...

So, it's okay now for a judge to completely disregard law set forth by a state athletic commission...???
Good to know...
