Full-on orange was a bad idea, but the HQ did like the all-whites of Virginia Tech.
24th-ranked Miami lost to a Top-25 team for the third straight time, and 14th-ranked Virginia Tech clinched the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference 31-17.
The Canes, 7-4 overall, have equaled their loss total from last season. They finished 5-3 in the ACC, with the regular-season finale next week against South Florida in Miami.
UM is now 4-9 against ranked teams under coach Randy Shannon. They might have had a shot at the Chick-Fil-A Bowl with a win, but now "anyone's guess" is where they're going...
