Wes Leonard was a junior at Fennville ((MI)) High School- outside of Grand Rapids. He hit the game-winning layup in overtime last night giving his Blackhawks a perfect 20-0 season. He collapsed on the court after the game, and later died at a local Hospital. His cause of death is unknown and is currently under investigation.
A parent at the game, who has a job as an EMT, started performing CPR on Leonard as soon as he collapsed. Emergency responders arrived and spent another hour and 20 minutes performing CPR when he arrived at the hospital.
He was also the school's starting quarterback...
