BREAKING: Pat Knight "Relieved of duties"...after Big 12 Tournament

This is kind of strange. Sort of.

Texas Tech University has decided that they've seen enough. Pat Knight, son of legendary coach Bobby Knight and the head basketball coach for the Red Raiders will be the coach no longer.

The school has in their words decided to "Part Ways" with Knight. But not until the end of the Big 12 Tournament.

Knight's team finished this season at 13-18 overall, 5-11 in the Big 12. Knight was 29-33 in 2 seasons as the head man in Lubbock after taking over for his father for the 2008-09 season. For his part, Knight was quoted at the beginning of this season as saying if the team didn't get to the NCAA tournament, he should lose his job. Looks like he was right.
