DEVELOPING: SWAC Defensive Player Of The Year Hospitalized

Grambling defensive lineman Christian Anthony, the Southwestern Athletic Conference's preseason defensive player of the year, has been hospitalized after suffering chest pains.

Grambling spokeswoman Vanessa Littleton says Anthony "is listed in stable condition after being admitted to the hospital."

Local newspapers are reporting Anthony was taken to a hospital in nearby Ruston, Louisiana. Teammates interviewed say he suffered an apparent heart attack.

Littleton also says Anthony first complained of chest pains yesterday. She says there was no indication that the incident was heat-related and that Anthony showed no signs of distress when the team went back inside to cool down and hydrate around 11:30AM Friday morning...

Last season Anthony was the only defensive lineman in the country with five interceptions- thus, his accolades coming in to the 2010 season.

For those of you unfamiliar with Anthony's prowess, here's a sample...
